About

Hello!

My name is Victoria, but almost everyone calls me Tori. I obsess over stories, especially ones that are different from our world somehow.

This blog will discuss everything writing and fantasy/science fiction (and maybe an occasional sports rant or celebration, but I promise to keep myself under control).

If you’re an aspiring writer or just a fantasy fan, you’ll find something useful here.

However, this is NOT a review blog. While I will write blogs about stories, characters, and writers I recommend, I will not write reviews. This is because I want to publish some day and I would rather not write a scathing review for a book one day and submit to that book’s agent the next and hope they don’t see it.

Here’s other places to find me online:

Blog Name:

The blog’s name is inspired from the speech Samwise Gamgee gives Frodo in Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers towards the end. I love it because it summarizes why I love stories perfectly.

Here’s the quote:
“It’s like in the great stories Mr. Frodo, the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were, and sometimes you didn’t want to know the end because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end it’s only a passing thing this shadow, even darkness must pass. A new day will come, and when the sun shines it’ll shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you, that meant something even if you were too small to understand why. But I think Mr. Frodo, I do understand, I know now folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going because they were holding on to something.”
